General Rules

1. The competition is open to all.
2. The closing date of the competition is midnight, 9 Sept 2021.
3. There is no limit on the number of entries a single entrant can make. All entries will be considered anonymously by the judges..
4. Under no circumstances can alterations be made to poems once entered.
5. The judges read all the entries; their decision is final. Neither the judges nor UME staff will enter into any correspondence.
6. No current employee or Trustee of UME is eligible to enter the Poetry Competition.

Poem Rules

1. All entries are judged anonymously and the poet’s name must not appear on the poem itself.
2. All poems must have a title.
3. Poems must be the entrant’s original work.
4. Entries must not have been published, self-published, published on a website, broadcast or featured among the winners in another competition before 25 SEPT 2021.

Fees

1. Each poem submission costs Rs 100/-

Prizes

• Best of 10 eligible poems find a column in an upcoming magazine (पाथेय) . Note- only for Hindi.
• Winners from Hindi and English respectively win a certificate of excellence issued by UME and a gift shipped through Amazon directly to the postal address.
• Best of 15 entries from both English and Hindi to be published on the website blog area.
