Life under Quarantine

And there is news of a new death, day by day, hour by hour, the number is increasing tremendously. The universe is going through turmoil between life and death. The survival is challenging, but Indians are always prepared to outshine the scenario. They are meant to come out with flying colors. Yes, you guessed it right. The pandemic virus, COVID-19. It was first diagnosed in December, 2019 in Wuhan, capital of China’s Hubei province and since then it is spreading globally. March 2020 was the period when this virus came to India with a huge number of cases.  People went into quarantine, to protect themselves and the country. Schools, colleges, universities, places of worship are sealed. Public transport is suspended, construction work halted as India asked its citizens to stay home and practice social distancing. . A nationwide lock down was imposed in India a few days ago, designed to stop the imminent spread of the novel corona virus. This is the phase when prayers are going into vain; no vaccine is there to defeat the virus. Ramayana and Mahabharata broadcast once again on the television are playing a crucial role in ensuring a morale support to the people all over the country. Where some are Watching T.V others are playing indoor games. Some have engaged themselves into sleeping and studies and some spending a lot of quality time with their parents. All of these practices are in the everyday schedule of most of the students across the country. This quarantine feels like a penitentiary which is similar to the lives of animals in the zoo. No exposure to the outside world, but this facet of life is giving time to learn about a lot of productive activities. Everyone is eagerly waiting to say; yes COVID-19 is over. We have defeated the virus. We have succeeded in symbolizing ‘unity is strength’ and soon the sun of compassion will arise, darkness will evaporate and we will be the birds in the sky singing from nowhere. We know that no matter what we are going through now, we can overcome the dark side and press on to a brighter world.
